Recycling items will NOT be picked up if in plastic  bags!
Current Guidelines:  Recycling may be set out in recycling bins and/or additional clean containers, Kraft paper bags, cardboard boxes, or bundled for pick up.

Village of Albers Consolidated Election
Notice is hereby given that Diane Luitjohan, Village Clerk for the Village of Albers, will be available September 21, 2010, and will continue to be available Monday through Friday from 5:30p.m.-9:00p.m., at 602 North Broadway, Albers, Illinois, or by calling (618)248-5586, or make other arrangements, for the purpose of obtaining candidate petitions or certificates of nomination for the Consolidated Election to be held April 5, 2011, of the following offices:

Village Trustee - Three (3) to be elected for four (4) year terms.

Petitions may be circulated beginning September 21, 2010.  The filing period is December 13, 2010, through December 20, 2010.

YARD WASTE SERVICE will discontinue December, January, and February. The last pick up for the year will be Monday, November 29, 2010. Service will resume Monday, March 07, 2011.

Department  24-hours a day.  Please call 911 with any emergencies. 

Albers  Police Chief, Angela Wagner, is requesting assistance from all residents in ending the recent rash of vandalism and criminal property  damage.  Multiple charges have been filed, but the vandalism  continues.  Your help is crucial in stopping these offenses.  Thank  you in advance for your help.

American Legion Post #1026 and the Village of Albers are working to recognize those serving as active duty military, National Guard, and Reserve members. ATTENTION ALL PET OWNERS!  Be a good neighbor by controlling your pets at all times (leash, fence, etc.), ensuring your pet is not on private property without the consent of the property owner, and cleaning up after your pet.  Thank you for being considerate of all residents by properly caring for your pets.  Please call the Albers Village Hall at 248-5154 with any concerns. 

According to the REVISED CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE VILLAGE OF ALBERS:  
3-1-6.  INJURY TO PROPERTY.
(A)  It shall be unlawful for any person owning or possessing a dog or cat to permit such dog or cat to go upon any sidewalk, parkway, or private lands or premises without the permission of the owner of such premises and break, bruise, tear up, crush or injure any lawn, flower bed, plant, shrub, tree or garden in any manner whatsoever, or to defecate thereon.
(B)  It shall be unlawful for any person to cause or permit a dog or cat to be on property, public or private, not owned or possessed by such person unless such person has in her / his immediate possession an appropriate device for scooping excrement and an appropriate depository for the transmission of excrement to a receptacle located upon property owned or possessed by such person.
